It's just advertising, why is spam so bad?

While on this big crusade, how's about ridding our TV, radio, magazines, newspapers, and internet webpages of spam as well? And no, I don't want to hear that lame excuse, "Well, gosh, golly gee, how would these poor multinational corporations support their poor selves if we got rid of advertising?" America could stand to be MUCH LESS greedy. Am I right yet again?

Reply:Spam is different because it does not pay for any service you are receiving. You accept advertisements on radio, TV, magazines, because you know it helps cover the cost of the service you are receiving. Spam does not.





Also, for many people, spam bogs down their ability to function on the Internet. You have to weed through it to get your business done. This is especially egregious if you don't have high speed dial up.
Reply:it wastes time and it creates havoc, noone likes to look through thier inbox and sort out 50 spam mails out of 60 messages. plus time is money, all that time you are using to get rid of the spam, you could be reading an important e-mail about something or doing something else.
Reply:The advertisements on TV, Radio, Magazines, newspapers, and internet webpages all cost somebody money. Companies paid to be seen. As for SPAM, anybody can send a million advertisments for free out of their basement, and millions of people are doing this. I don't want their cheap-*** spam messages in my email. It's kinda like a 25 year-old man with no disabilities standing on the corner with a cardboard sign, begging for money. I'm not going to give that person any money. Give me a song and dance. Give me a jingle. Put a little effort in your marketing. Spammers are good-abled people who have quit on life and are lazy. They are bums. I don't want to deal with them.

Spam is different to that of mags and TV etc because you are contatntly bombrded with it, in your home when you are trying to get some work done on your PC.





If you work in an office and someone kept tapping on the shoulder insecently you'd soon get mad. It just the same.
