Yahoo calendar has advertising in it that I cant remove?

I have been using Yahoo calendar for over a year. About 2months ago advertising showed up with weekly repeat and goes on forever.

Selecting a day will not let me remove the entry.

I have tried to clear all of the calendar with no success.

How do I remove entries or clear all and start over with a blank calendar?

Respectfully

Bob

Yahoo calendar has advertising in it that I cant remove?
More than likely, that crap is coming from one of your Yahoo groups. They are attached by default to our personal calendars (Thanks a load YAhoo)

In any case to eliminate this....

Go to your personal calendar.

go to options

go to Time guides.

uncheck the groups

Good luck I hope this is it!

Bare soles of the feet in advertising? Gross or nice?

I noticed on an earlier question that many people find bare feet gross or ugly. I can totally share this view if smelly dirty feet are concerned.

On the other hand, while obviously many people don't like feet, especially naked ones, they are very present in advertising. Almost daily I see ads where people are barefoot, mainly in ads for couches, travel agencies but also telecommunications. I suspect that the feet should be a symbol for feeling well, relaxed, at home etc. But: not just feet are presented to the viewer, but especially the soles are presented in clear focus. Why, if this conflicts with so many people disliking feet? Wouldn't that put off that product advertised?

What is your opinion? Do you make a difference between "just feet" and "bare soles"?

Bare soles of the feet in advertising? Gross or nice?
Doesn't make a difference to me; I'm always barefoot for comfort but I don't think anything really special about the appearance of the foot, toes, soles or as a whole. To me, feet are more like hands than anything else; they're just a body part, looking good if they're strong and healthy, looking not as good when they're all gnarled, but I wouldn't expect an old person with gnarled hands to wear gloves so why should feet be covered? It's great to go barefoot but just looking at them, I feel neither the attraction fetishists have, nor the repulsion some others seem to have.

I think the dislike many people have of feet has to do with so many myths that do the rounds about bare feet being unhealthy or gross. Here in Europe it's rare to find any signs banning bare feet from stores, most people here think it's a rather healthy practice. While I get lots of surprised comments it's rare for anyone to respond in a truly negative manner.

In the US lots of people see signs against bare feet all the time, however the Health Department does NOT have any laws against going barefoot, signs stating so are FALSE (see source). Yet many people believe them %26amp; believe that obviously there must be something wrong with bare feet, they must be gross/dangerous/unhealthy. It's very sad so many stores keep posting those signs with misinformation, I'm sure they influence the public opinion in a very negative way.
Reply:To keep it short,I love it..Bare feet are great...the dirtier and smellier the better...but thats another thing..personally,I want more ads to have barefeet in them...I usually get disappointed when I see shoes or socks when barefeet can easily be shown.
Reply:Bare feet are no doubt a symbol of freedom and comfort. Although I agree that some feet can be mis-shapen, blistered, or with bunions or fungus resulting in feet that are not very appealing, there is a conflict due to the fact that most, if not all foot ailments are caused by shoes. I have been a full time barefooter for a year and a half walking, shoping, dining, working, driving and hiking always barefoot and have feet that are healthier and stronger than they have ever been in my life.

I think the symbol of healthy bare feet portrays freedom and comfort perfectly.
Reply:i love bare feet
Reply:Personally I do not feel any difference between the two terms. I just say, personally, I like to see other women's feet (I have a fetish for other women's feet) and it is a matter of fact that since some years female's feet are more present into advertising of many products, often it handles of products which have nothing to do about feet. Why? To me, feet are the new expression of "daring and unexpected" and this tickles fantasies of men (and women), so when you want to advertise something, if you have the chance to put inside the view of some nice shaped female feet you surely know you will drag the attention of people watching the ad. Female feet sell great, and if they are well shaped and well cared, are always a pleasure to see and appreciate!

Why has TV advertising lost it's sense of humor?

I can't recall one funny TV ad for the last couple of years. Most are annoying now, and I just hit the mute button for the TV until it's over... Has advertising lost it's sense of humor?

Why has TV advertising lost it's sense of humor?
i think so.

i can totally relate. i mean everything is so corny now. ugh
Reply:You don't like the nextel one where they are dancing to salt and Peppa "oh baby baby".
Reply:I disagree. There are a lot of funny ads out there. The "Planet in Need" campaign for milk is hilarious. I also love the cel phone commercial where the mother and daughter are yelling complimentary things at each other. There is an animated commercial for XM where the logo keeps changing to match the music that's playing -- it's very funny and creative.

Would getting a Bachelors degree in Advertising be a smart move?

I am looking to find a good paying career and live in NYC, if I were to get a Bachelors degree in Advertising would that be a good choice to make? Would i be able to get a good job? What are some choices i would have (fields wise) what are some jobs that people have in NYC whom have a degree in Advertising? Should i do that or if not what should i do? Any positive adivce or help?

Would getting a Bachelors degree in Advertising be a smart move?
Since you live in NYC getting a degree in advertising would be an EXCELLENT choice. NYC is the advertising capitol of the world. In most areas getting into an advertising agency is very competitive and almost impossible to do. But NYC has so many advertising agencies (and some mighty fine ones I might add) that getting a job won't be very hard at all if you have a degree and a good head on your shoulders. There are many different jobs you can do in an advertising agency, and you'll learn about each one in college. Then you can make your choice about exactly what job you would like to perform. Good luck!
Reply:It would be fine . . . if you don't mind thinking of ways to screw over the public as a career.
Reply:When they had the "Communist Witch Hunts" of the Mc Carthy era, there were people who needed to know why they should use deodorant to smell better and soap to get clean. "Remember to spit out both the toothpaste and mouthwash' is still something that the barbarians do not know. I think this field is not in as much demand as in the 50s.

Does anyone have any advice for advertising a small business company?

Hello, I have started my own wedding planning business. I am seeking ways to advertise my business to the appropriate market. However, I would like to spend little money on the advertising to start with. All ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Does anyone have any advice for advertising a small business company?
There are some small business associations out there that are good at helping market and advertise your company. Americas Best Companies, http://www.americasbestcompanies.com
Reply:Assuming that you have an active website, consider placement of various critical SEO [Search Engine Optimization] metatags that can

surely achieve a high search engine presence and

increase Internet traffic to your website. These

metatag strategies work well with published websites

at Google and Yahoo.

Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based

website, make sure to fill-in the property entries

such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing

to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can

be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the

Internet audience and their incoming setup. For

example, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpages

take too long to load up and therefore analog users

will likely lose interest and discontinue entering the

Flash site. On the other hand, anyone on hi-speed DSL

lines, will welcome Flash pages which load quickly. So

before designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simple

question, "Who's my end user - is he on dialup or

DSL?" And if you had to choose between these two users

for maximum marketability, then select analog users

since 80% of most resident users are still analog

Internet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpages

is best for them.

A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text,

is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit

the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a

graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.

Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots

are unable to properly classify textual material.

Placement of Metatags:

A ranking or search order does take place with Google

and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which

should consist of no more than 65 characters separated

by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic

terms, the goods and services, followed by a location

from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state.

The placement of a domain name which is not generic

within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your

domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

The second metatag is the "Description" which is

usually 41 words to form a complete sentence which

best describes one's goods and services.

And the very last category - "Keywords" are also

somewhat limited to 15 words which can be plural

and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries

which could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" which

is defined as the loading, and submission of

repetitive words into a particular metatag category.

"Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reported

to Google's spamreport.com can result in the

elimination of your website from their search

directory.

Good luck!
Reply:Yes. If you haven't taken complete control of all these free marketing avenues at Search Engines -- get started!

Register your business with Google.com (and other search engines). In less than a week they will contact you and give you lots of cool information on how to use it to your advantage. Then take active ownership of the site that pops up when you search your company name (maybe your company name plus zip code). Add photos, info, specific driving directions, etc. You can add lots of details. Do the same at other search engines.

Once you have your Google site started (and similarly at other sites), get to know every link and tab in that site. It is free. Have your friends and clients write reviews of your work there.

Then search your company through Google and other search engines and study every link that is associated and do the same at any of those sites that you can put to your advantage.

Reply:It’s rarely an instant return on the Internet. You need your website coming up relevant to what people "search for" on the Internet. It takes time to get placement in the right places within the Internet and if you're listed in the right category of searches you stand a better chance of returns. The following is one of the better ways.

For a small charge you can have a “Permanent” website advertisement placed in an index such as this in a choice of around 750 categories to target your business trade.

This will raise your website profile and increase its chances of extra sales because this site is indexed by the search engines placing your site within public searches.

The advantage of a site like this is that you don’t have to update your listing again.

I have increased my business on a weekly basis by $1200 since I have joined this group. This is strict networking with other small business owners who basically become your sales army by referring their customer base to you. For example, in my group we have an excellent florist who would be a perfect person for you to team up with or a travel agent who could assist those couples for honeymoon or a lawyer if they need pre nups or a real estate agent to help find that perfect 1st new house.

By utilizing this networking approach, you become not only the one stop shop for your customers but you become a virtual "fountain of information" that will keep them talking forever about how great you are and what a wonderful service you provide.

You are obviously not employing these other people, they are joining forces basically with you... If you have a BNI chapter in your area, you can visit each chapter twice to decide if its for you. I am not selling you a service or an advertising gimmick however referral based networking is the BEST advertising cause its all word of mouth but when you have a whole chapter "advertising" for you its a great feeling!!!!
Reply:Wedding biz is all about references, and word of mouth. You are going to have to print some good and simple business cards. You are going to have to go to all the wedding shows and conventions, buying a table, and stand out there every chance you get to get the chance to work some weddings.

If you are really good, people will talk, and you will get calls out of the blue, but you better count of a few hard years getting started. Most rarely walk into a small start up business without tons connections first.

Also start a web page that is professional, and shows examples.

I know a lady who started making veils. She nows goes around the country modeling her products on the front page of major wedding magazines just staying with the crowds, and getting all those connections. People talk, if you stay around long enough.

I think the best ones are the non offensive where you can remember the product.

Everyready bunny was a good one because it was cute but later people knew it was batteries but couldn't remember what brand. Until they started calling it everyready bunny it wasn't a good ad.

An example of a ad that was a total waste of money was the little blue pill ads. They never said what they were for, the ads weren't cute and didn't connect to a name.

Any ideas for advertising an on-line greeting business card company in the UK?
I am assuming your market is local? If so, you may want to make a small decorative flier (it will cost pennies) and hand them out at local events - street fairs, markets, etc. Since you already have a website, this could be super simple with your name, website address and what your business is.
Reply:not a bad start doing what you have just done.

I think you will find that there are few people who will provide effective free advertising. It is not exactly a good business model for them to give space away for nothing.

I just looked at your web site and if you don't mind some advice, you need to get over what is unique about your cards in a much more up front manner. I could not see why I should order them over the net as opposed to a card shop where I can see and feel the quality for myself in my hand. I am sure your cards are great but you need to sell that to people visiting the site and attract their attention as soon as they enter it - instantly. Can I also suggest actual photos of the cards themselves, the images you have look like they are taken from a catalogue and are more like drawings than the real thing.

Best of luck with it.

Which major is better accounting or advertising?

Hi I have to pick a major because I am already gonna be a sophomore, but I am so undesided. During the first year I switched my major 3 times and still I am not sure that this is what I want to do. First I was computer science, but I did not like the programming lenguage, then I was graphic design but I am in university that is not an art university and I talked with a lot of professors and they told me that is going to be really competitive for me out there because also I am international student. So I switched to advertising with minor graphic design, but still I am not sure that this is what I want. I am worring because I am also international student and for me everything is going to be more difficult after graduation. Now I started to think about accounting because I can find job easily and is going to be good paid. My adviser also offered me advertising with minor bussiness. I don't know what to do!

Which major is better accounting or advertising?
In my opinion, accounting is a better alternative. If you understand the numbers you understand the language of business. Advertising is a good option but I would go with accounting.
Reply:If you are outside of a big city, I would definitely do accounting. You'll have plenty of jobs to choose from and good salaries. Of course, only do this if you don't mind crunching numbers all day. However, if you are going to live in a big city, and really want to do advertising, I say go for it.
Reply:There will be more jobs in accounting than advertising but if you don't really love accounting, you won't want to do it for the rest of your life ! Follow your interests/talents and do what you love. You'll be able to find a job out there eventually.

Why is it not allowed to advertise cigarettes but advertising booze is allowed?

Advertising in magazines, television, radio, etc.

And I never heard of somebody driving while smoking that killed any one based on impaired judgment from a cigarette.

Why is it not allowed to advertise cigarettes but advertising booze is allowed?
If you smoke, you exhale, and second hand smoke kills everyone. It is incredibly selfish and should be prosecuted. Drinking and driving is illegal. If someone does it, they can and should be prosecuted. Smokers who drive are just stupid, I only wish we would make it illegal.
Reply:Good Q. It´s all about who you piss off in Congress !
Reply:You have to ask the anti-smoking gestapo about that one.
Reply:Because right now, smoking is not PC. However, drinking still is.

The only reason the government is taking the anti-smoking rally seriously is because they can jack up the taxes on them. And some are saying that the Reagan administration forced researchers to really dig deep, and even eventually lie, to make smoking out to be worse than it truly is. (Even in the final study, most lung cancer was found among people who never smoked or were never near smokers).
Reply:why do dems want to make pot leagle amd tobacco illeagle? just wierd
Reply:Because there are people who have nothing better to with their lives then sit around make decision for other peoples lives that do not concern them. Alcohol does kill, your body, (Liver), (brain cells). The government knows that they cannot bring up alcohol as a subject to try and ban, there's too many alcoholics in high places, how else would they socialize? Sober? lol, that's just too funny, could you imagine us being in a world where sober people made up the laws? They have to have something to do while there sitting around making up new laws, and banning things, ahh, hey, bartender bring me another drink. One who's tired of all the hypocrisy
Reply:Because alcohol doesn't cause a disease which is 100% fatal.

Where have you been?
Reply:Easy. Booze kills fewer people than fags. And when it does kill people, booze does it pretty quickly, which is economical.
Reply:Second hand smoke from cigarrettes is dangerous to everyone around you, while booze only hurts yourself. Plus drinking only a glass of alcohol a day is actually healthy. Smoking also kills more people a year then alcohol. If you smoke near a kid he might become addicted to it.
Reply:Cigarettes are disgusting-booze is fun and sexy if you dont get too drunk-cant compare the two-it doesnt make sense.

How much does advertising space on a site make?

I have a site that is drawing about 30,000 people a day. How much could I make if I sold some advertising space?

I don't want it to be a huge mass of adverts, but perhaps a couple of banners and a few text adds. possibly a pop up window. Could someone who has done this tell me how much it makes and what the best sort of ads are and how to set them up.

Many thanks.

How much does advertising space on a site make?
In our website, we sell advertising space - both banners via CPM, sponsored text links, and newsletter advertising.

How much you could make depends on a number of factors: your traffic levels, type of audience (some audiences are more valuable to advertisers than others -- e.g. if your site attracts techies or CEOs you can charge way more than a site that attracts teens, even if you have smaller traffic), ad formats used, etc

As to what rate to charge, the amount depends on a number of factors:

- Who is your audience and how desirable is your audience to the advertisers? If your audience are techies or those who have the propensity to purchase higher-ticket items, then you can charge a higher price as compared to an audience of students.

- What is the rate of comparative websites in your niche? You don't want to overprice yourself out of the market yet you don't want to undercharge as well

- What is the rate advertisers are willing to pay in your site? You may charge $5 per CPM and yet for months nobody's taking you on the rate even though you may get inquiries -- this implies that advertisers think your rate is too expensive. But if you charge $0.50 per CPM and advertisers are flooding in, then you may be too cheap and can afford to increase your rate.

- What is the CPM you get from other advertising vehicles? Do you run Google Adsense, and if so, what is your effective CPM rate with them? Or if you run banner ads through ad networks like Burst Media, Valueclick or Tribal Fusion, what is the CPM you're getting? You can use those values to help you gauge your rate.

- What ad model are you going to use -- will be it CPM (or cost per 1000 impressions), CPC or cost per click or a flat rate.

Since you're just starting in the game, experiment and see what rate the market will bite. You can start at $2-5 per CPM and see how it goes. Or take a look at some of what similar sites are charging with comparable traffic. Some sites to check out

Trend Hunter magazine (1.2 million pageviews/month) http://advertisers.federatedmedia.net/pl... = $10-30 CPM

Read Write Web (730,000 page views per month) http://www.federatedmedia.net/authors/re... = $140 a week for flat rate text ads

In terms of accepting payment, majority (99.8%) of those who will advertise will pay by credit card so make sure you have your own merchant account as well as Paypal.

Also be sure you have an ad server to easily manage the campaigns and allow advertisers to check their stats real time. Check out OpenAds http://www.openads.org -- it is FREE but powerful ad server

Now-a-days, people don't really "sell" advertising space.

The reason being is that everybody today just advertises with Google AdWords or Yahoo!'s equivalent or whatever else there is.

So, the best thing to do is to sign up to one of these.

I hope this helps!

P.S. If you're really getting 30,000 people, you could probably make a full time income by signing up for Pay Per Play - which is brand new... here's the link...

Best colour for advertising flyers?
Off-white with colorful printing

I hate neon fliers, they seem tacky, unprofessional and generally obnoxious

White looks like you just printed it off your computer

Pastel looks feminine and washed out

Dark, you cannot read

Black type is alright but blah
Reply:Since you're advertising legal services, I suggest you stay away from red, pink, neon colors, or other bright colors. They'd be fine if you want to advertise your services as a party clown. They are not suitable for a professional business. You want to give the impression of professionalism, competence, reliability, and maturity. Use a cream color, good quality paper. Keep the color to a minimum. Use a professional-looking font.

And are you sure you want flyers? A brochure will give a much more favorable impression.
Reply:use light blue or pale green
Reply:neon lime green...

Job interview for advertising company?

i have applied for an internship with a well known advertising agency in my city. they say the interview will take the form of a presentation. can anyone offer any ideas on what to do or how this works? i know they are also going to ask me about my reasons for being in this field and will ask about my favourite ads as they have informed me about this. should i come up with an ad campaign selling myself to them, and if so, can anyone help in terms of how i could go about doing this and make it fun/exciting/interesting? thank you so much, your input will be highly valued and i will thank all of you if i get this internship!

Job interview for advertising company?
Easy ... do a campaign on why they should hire you.

Use all the skills you have learned in school. Remember, you are not competing with advertising professionals. You are competing with other students.

Your campaign should sell a product ... YOU!

Write a TV spot, a radio spot, a newspaper ad and a direct mail piece, etc. on why this agency should hire an intern that can contribute now to helping their clients succeed. Present this at your job interview just like you would present it to a prospective client.

Good luck.
Reply:doing a campaign about yourself sounds great. maybe come up with a campaign for a product or service they maybe working on at the time of the interview. example they are doing a campaign for pepsi for christmas theme. do something for that. who knows they may take components of your campaign for the final product.

Can I eliminate advertising from coming to my inbox?

Constanty getting advertising from Mortgage companies I don't want to deal with. Also from learning institutions and money lenders

Can I eliminate advertising from coming to my inbox?
not to look like an advertisement but this helps a lot

http://andycaine.spambully.hop.clickbank...
Reply:You can't. That's one of the worst things of the internet, and you have to learn how to deal with this.

First, use one personal email for friends and business relations ONLY. Never enter that email in any, any website.

Second, use a general email account for all your internet surfing.

About the one you have now, it will continue receiving junk email and it will increase day by day. When the junk email becomes unmanageable, close it.

There is no other options.

Thanks
Reply:Only advise is prevention rather than corrective. Set up an additional email address and use that address if you are signing up to anything which involves advertising. There are ways to block spam but if you give them a spam email address then at lease there not cloging up your main one.

Media Studies presentation: Advertising in Sport?

Hi. I have to do a presentation for Media Studies on Wednesday, and I'm pretty nervous. I'm not sure what to say and I have to do it in front of my whole class. The presentation must be on Advertising in Sport and I have decided to focus on Football (Soccer). I know that there are loads of advertisments in the football stadiums, on the shirts and even in the names of some stadiums (e.g. Emirates Stadium). I have also had a look at the various endorsments that products and companies have from football players (e.g. Adidas and Beckham). The trouble is putting all of this into words and explaining it properly. I must explain why it is used, how it is successful, how it is unsuccessful and whether of not it has an effect on the audience/consumers. I am also going to show a video clip from a football match before I start my presentation and before the class know what my presentation is about so that I can see if they take the ads in. What should I acctually say in my presentation?

Media Studies presentation: Advertising in Sport?
Whether in football or any other sports, advertising is used to elicit a specific response to the stimulus.

The stimulus can be the brand names plastered on the players' shirts. The response of the audience, both in the stadium and at home watching the game on TV could be "That brand of sports wear must be so good that my favorite team is confident about wearing it, I should get the same wear for me or for my kids"

Advertising is always about stimulus and response. That is why advertisers take great pains about how their message is crafted, where the messages are exposed (in this case, in the sports arena), how many times the exposure should be (some people are irritated when they see advertising messages too often, and the negative reception to the ad will produce a response that the advertiser would not want e.g. boycott the product - - it comes in the way of the pleasure of watching the games. In this case, the advertising is unsuccessful. Worse because the client would have paid for the exposure, and yet the result is negative. Calibration, or the correct dose of advertising is equally important as the message itself.

The level of advertising is equated by the audience (the audience is targeted by marketing companies because they are "consumers", or if not the consumers of the advertised product, they are probably the decision makers in the purchase. Or they are influencers in the purchase-decision-making process. Thus, even stadium walls and roofs have been used in advertising. Consumers know that it will cost a fortune to convince the owners of the satdium to have your brand plastered on it. The response to be elicited could be " Oh, this brand must be so big they can afford such expensive advertising". A response like that is generally positive, because consumers always go for big brands. Big brands = reliable product. it is for this reason that brands as big as Nike, Coke, and Marlboro continue to present themselves continuously to the consumers. They need to be consistently seen as BIG.

Bigness in sports is best demonstrated via major participation in the most popular sports events. That is why the NBA Games in the USA are always well-sponsored. And that is also why the Olympic Games continue to attract major advertisers. A football match is the everyday-version of these colossal sports events. And the proximity to the real consumers who go to watch the games is a bonus.

A question on advertising and the future?

I want to know if you think that advertising has gone too far and what the health effects are and lastly briefly what will it be like in the future,is it possible that people will have to wear logos full sized on there clothes and fined if they dont or will comercials be sent into your dreams or is that too far fetched?

A question on advertising and the future?
What are the health effects of advertising?...well I guess I'd have to say good because lifespan continues to increase as both technology and advertising does.

Have you SEEN McDonald's new advertising slogan?

McDonalds new advertising slogan for their Deli sandwiches is:

"You deserve a better lunch."

My God, where were the advertising department when they were handing out brains? Oh yeah, putting them in to burgers.

Have you SEEN McDonald's new advertising slogan?
LMAO!

Maybe it should be "You deserve a better lunch...but for now, this is all you can afford."
Reply:I don't think that is a slogan. I think it is a warning.
Reply:for one of the best known corporations in the world (so im assuming one of the richest), i dont understand why all their commercials suck.. you swear they couldnt cough up a little more dough to make some better advertising campaigns.

by the way, i remember that one internet ad, where mcdonalds was trying to reach out to the young whippersnappers by using slang they didnt really understand, so they showed a picture of a guy smiling at a double cheeseburger with the slogan "i'd hit it"... the ad was promptly removed when they found out what it really meant.

Reply:I DO deserve a better lunch. This is why I don't go to McDonald's *cough*

(nice one there bud) lol
Reply:their burgers give me diarrhea. you think they could use that in their next slogan

"You can't get fat if you can't keep it in"
Reply:that's a lame slogan!!!!
Reply:Yep---*you deserve a better lunch*--so go somewhere else!
Reply:EEwwwww... is that what was in the sandwich I ate for lunch yesterday???
Reply:...wow...Have they not tasted there food lately?
Reply:its not a better lunch at all, they are unhealthy, but they do taste nice. they come with pros and cons.
Reply:I rarely watch television, so this is the first I've heard of it. It's pretty lame. My immediate thought is that it should be "You deserve a better lunch -- so order these deli sandwiches instead of the other crap we sell."

Still, it's preferable to the nauseating and egocentric Carls Jr commercials like "If it doesn't get all over the place it doesn't belong in your face" [ah, the joys of trouncing grace and manners and politeness] and the profoundly annoying "burger, fries, and a Couk; don't bother me, I'm eating" while some hunky slob is chewing a bite the size of a bus.

Actually, this new slogan is reminscent of McDonald's theme song back in the 1970s, which contained this lyric --

"You deserve a break today.

So get up and get away to McDonald's."

-- and which people parodied as --

"You deserve a break today.

So throw up and run away from McDonald's."

Sorry, but fast food has always been revolting.
Reply:McDonald's is wicked conceited.....what about Wendy's, Burger King, or those other ff places....they serve good lunches...
Reply:They also say their food is healthy. Yeah right.

Can you explain to me about advertising?

I'm only a junior in highschool. I really am creative. I'm more visually creative, i can turn a piece of blank paper into a work of art (from what i was told..). I'm not really sure if advertising is cut out for me or not? Maybe you could explain to me what skills i need to acquire and just other general information about this career. Also.. whats the difference between advertising and marketing?

Can you explain to me about advertising?
You may be more interested in what's called Graphic Arts and Design, or Visual Arts, or just Design at some schools. That's the visual creativity aspect. Some people major in both business/marketing and graphic design so that as designers they can talk to the business-types, or so that as businessmen they can talk to the designers.

The designers do the creative stuff like logo design, ads, etc. I think that's what you ought to investigate.

Im getting sick of the BBC advertising other BBC programs on the news and current event shows. Anyone else?

On a BBC current affairs breakfast program they kept advertising and 'interviewing' contestants on an ice skating program. Then tonight on BBC news they advertise programs for tomorrow and class it as news. What happened to the standards of the BBC? What are we paying out TV licences for, just to be fed the same drivel over and over

Im getting sick of the BBC advertising other BBC programs on the news and current event shows. Anyone else?
That is only one of the reasons that I rarely watch BBC News. Currently we have someone continually bragging that the BBC got the Northern Rock story first; as if it matters. The irritating drumming noise has been the subject of comment for a long time on the Points of View website. Now we have the annoyingly aggressive three-tone BBC signal on the World Service. BBC personnel have been embedded with (i.e. censored by) the US military. The BBC pointedly ignores complaints and says it does not read e-mails. On the other hand, Al Jazeera gives a pleasant, informative and unbiased service.
Reply:Indeed the quality of the media are getting lower even the BBC may be suffering and the loss of quality of programming, the best that is on the Internet at youtube and look on the themes varied! All this to see if we viewers are more donkeys to not understand the real life! I don´t Speak english
Reply:The BBC sucks. It is just outdoor relief for the upper classes. Everyone on there went to public school. You know, John Peel went to Charterhouse, and Simon Mayo went to the same school as Johnnie Walker. Check out the schooling of the others....

I was hearing some git of a Tory on 5live grumbling that poor old people who go to visit relatives in hospital in Wales don't have to pay parking fees and this was wrong because it came out of 'tax payers' money'. The irony that he was broadcasting on a medium wholly paid for out of tax payers' money seemed to elude him.

I NEVER watch the BBC. I remember all sorts of people doing ads for them, saying about how their excellence would be ruined if they took ads, and how there were not enough ads to go around, and then we had the explosion of digital tv and dozens of channels, all financed by ads. I would abolish the BBC tomorrow.

The speed with which Greg Dyke was despatched, though, shows it is an arm of government. There is no way they would ever do away with this particular branch of the propaganda ministry.
Reply:i gave up on BBC a long time ago for the same reason

lol
Reply:That doesn't bother me too much, but I do wish the BBC World Service wouldn't keep announcing how good it is, it's had a good reputation and needn't tell us about it. Listeners are quite capable of figuring out how good it is for themselves.
Reply:Yes I totally agree! Then it will be endlessly repeated until we can recite it word for word! And we have to pay for the pleasure!!!!!
Reply:not nearly as bad as the BBC advertising dr who at the cinema - that is just taking the pi$$
Reply:It drives one up the wall !! More than that the endless reading of "Old News" and THEIR breaking headlines is another annoying tendancy.
Reply:ivt news does it too
Reply:yeah i hate it too. It's like paying for it all twice and it's always the programmes that evryone is apparantly hooked on anyway. they should promote themselves. it's slightly different but at the moment i hate that eastenders advert. i thought it was some sort of charity advert like the ones they do for comic relief at first, couldn't believe it was genuine. rubbish
Reply:The BBC is not what it use to be, is it?

But it pretends its so much better than the other channels, eh?
Reply:I totally agree on the BBC news 24 advertising Alan Sugars program celebrity dancing on ice, Dr Who.i want to just watch the news when i am on that channel
Reply:The annoying thing is that these plugs are rarely ever news
Reply:The BBC are now known as the British Brainwashing Corporation. I can't believe what is classified as news on the BBC and I have caught them out telling blatant lies as well. I also find that they are incredibly biased at times.
Reply:I couldn't give a monkeys.
Reply:OK then complain after all its your BBC

Do you think Advertising is partly to blame for the problems with young people drinking in the UK?

Which alcohol adverts do you think appeal to young people %26amp; why? Do you think the advertisement makes the drink look appealing? What key elements of advertising are found attractive by young people? Do you think advertisement will encourage people to drink?

Do you think Advertising is partly to blame for the problems with young people drinking in the UK?
No, I don't think advertising is partly to blame for the problems with young people drinking because I'm from Norway, and its not allowed to show commercials of alcohol related products here but young people still drink to much in the weekends.

I don't think advertisement will encourage people to drink, only what to drink.
Reply:" No , board-em is one of the main factors in people drinking under age in this country , there is not a lot for them to do , when they have finished school "
Reply:I cant understand how people believe advertising can be to blame for teenages drinking. There is hardly any advertising for alcohol and it especially isnt aimed at teenages. The adverts seem to be more grown up and you never see the advertising of alcopops which happens to be the most or one of the most popular drink amongst under aged drinkers. I actually think that the advertising of alcopops is banned. teenages drink because adults are constantly telling them they shouldn't. Teenages rebel, its what they do.

I know that advertising is essential to the survivals of many firms, but I am still wondering something?

1) Each time I visit a website or read newspapers, I ignore the ads section. So do many people in my country. So what is the impact of advertising in my country (a developing country) if many people don't care about it?

What about people in other developed countries?

2) Some national firms are very famous. A prominent bank in my country puts a lot of banners on streets' trees, in web newspaper .... They only features the name of the bank and something like "Happy new year!" They don't inform people about new services or new type of cards, etc.

I wonder if they are effective. Everyone knows the bank, and a small banners on trees or websites won't matter much. Am I right?

3) Last year, a group of students held a one-week conference between some other students and some students from America, hoping to improve understandings between students from two countries. Google was among the sponsors.

Why do they have to sponsor a small conference? Google is already very well-known.

Thanks!!

I know that advertising is essential to the survivals of many firms, but I am still wondering something?
1. IF you were in the market for something you would look at some ads. I generally ignore ads, but when I need something, I do scan for what I want as at times you'll see something useful--a promotion--discount, whatever. I don't see that would be different in a developed or developing country.

2. One of the reasons big firms will do something like "Happy New Year" is that they get discounts on ads, purchase x amount of space, and can point to something like that as "we don't always pressure people" kind of goodwill gesture. You did notice the ad :)

3. Google is well-known but there are a couple of reasons why they'd do that. First, the guys who started it are kind of "social consciousness" oriented and as they're filthy rich they can do as they please with their money. They think this is a good idea. What you describe is not that radically different from sponsoring a local kids' team or some such--again, goodwill factor is there.

Bottom line, getting the word out that a company exists is NOT the only reason for advertising. Building a reputation and image are very important for organizations that are NOT fly-by-night. You have to be able to distinguish yourself in some way and some target markets are VERY into some things you won't care about (nor would I).
Reply:1) Even though you "ignore" the ad, you see it. Subconsciously you see the ad by do not consciously acknowledge it.

2) Name........Name recognition is what the banners are for. You see it everyday and the name sticks with you even though you do not know what the company is all about.

3) Google sponsors such things for philanthropy reasons........they do not need the name recognition. Companies that have billions of dollars will help small and large humanitarian and other events so that they can be recognized for their generosity

Thoughts on Subliminal Advertising.?

I'm currently writing a report on subliminal advertising. Everyone is supposed to find a twist of explaining how it is used, but in my opinion, we really do not know when it is being used. If it is truly subliminal, then our brains do not perceive it.

Does anyone have any thoughts or comments? Or how this subject can be turned into a ten page report?

Thank You!

Thoughts on Subliminal Advertising.?
The previous poster gave you some good answers (although it was actually a soda company that used to spell out the letters S-E-X in the ice cubes, not a beer company). Another famous tactic was a soda company that use to "hide" pictures of hot buttered popcorn within the movie. The images would go by so quickly, that they were all but invisible, but the viewer's mind was still able to register them. This resulted in sales of popcorn going through the roof.

There was a great book on Subliminal Advertising that came out during the late '60s. Many of the "tricks" used in the old days, however, have since been made illegal, so it is harder for marketers to employ subliminal tactics.

A much more popular tactic, that doesn't exactly fall under the category of subliminal advertising, is Product Placement. This is when companies such a Coke, Ford, Tag Heuer - you name it, actually pay the producers of tv shows, movies, etc. for the right to place their products in the show. So, for example, you might be watching Friends when Ross opens a Coke. Or you might be watching Law and Order when the cops pull over the driver of a Ford Focus. Marketers pay millions of dollars to promote their products this way. The products are quite visible - so it's not subliminal advertising in the traditional sense, but it does have the same intended effect as watching a commercial.

You might ask your teacher or instructor if you could base your paper on Product Placement, using the argument I've just given you. If he/she says know, see if you can locate the book Subliminal Advertising. You might be able to find it in a good used book store.

Good luck with your paper.
Reply:Hey well I can certainly share my thoughts. I totally understand what you mean about how if our minds can not notice that the subliminal message is there, then we can not percieve it and it is useless.

But my thought on that is that the advertising will cause you to think something, so that even though you aren't thinking of the product itself, you may think of something related to it which will then cause you to think of the product. For example a sublimal message might tell you to watch tv, where on tv you will see ads for that product.

Well, I know that one beer company a while ago would always show ice cubes in their glasses of beer. And in the ice if you looked really carefully would read the word 'sex' and sometimes it had stretched out skulls.

Subliminal advertising can also be gone in a physical form where there was one case where I show company would spray a sent in the four corners of their store every half hour. not the smell was very faint but it was strong enough for people's noses to smell it and feel real good about themselves. Therefore a happy customer was more willing to buy.

There are also other little tricks that companies have used. One really famous doghnut shop, I bet you can guess which one I am talking about.....Well you know when you buy a cofee how the cups are usually card boardish. Well they would lave the cup laced with I think it was caffeine so that when you held the cup the particles of caffeine would sink into your hand. Then when you lifted the cup to your mouth to drink it you could smell the caffeine therefore making people believe it was the coffe that they were enjoying.

Now I am not saying that the coffee was bad, just that it was a little bit of an extra "umph" added into it.

Well for your report however I think you should try and find more examples of similar cases. I also think you should research the history behind it, try and find where it was first being used and the different techniques behind how it developed and became so effective.

So hey that is all I got too say, I hope you do good on your report. Good luck:)
Reply:well, you can find more ideas here at http://www.chargedaudio.com

plenty of subliminal articles for you to refer to.. and good luck with your report!

hope this helps!

How does online advertising work? Can someone point me to an article describing the process?

What I want to know is how advertising content is placed onto a server and how that content is delivered from the server to me, the person viewing it. Someone must have written about this somewhere!

How does online advertising work? Can someone point me to an article describing the process?
there are so many ways to advertise online. The most popular is through google your yahoo. Google is called adwords (do a google search and you will get tons of info on it) and yahoo is I think just yahoo advertising. You create an ad, and link to a website and pay per click. They have special code you can install to find where the click came from, what pages they visited and if they bought from clicking that ad. There are tons of articles on it out there, just go to google adwords and check out what they have there and they have all the info you will never need and pretty much the same applies for most others. You also have cost per impressions (which is how many times the ad is viewed, not clicked, cost per acquisition, which is only pay on an ad when it actually has the buyer go through a set pre determined process such as buying or filling out a form)
Reply:If you are wondering how did it get into search engines, and than you found it, there is a lot that goes into that. But it comes down to the fact that you probably typed in a key phrase and the person who posted the content actually targeted and optimized that content for that key phrase.

If you want to learn a little more about it, you can get more info here.

Hi everyone!Any suggestions for a chicago internship location in the advertising/marketing department?

I am planning on moving to Chicago this summer, and am hoping to land an internship somewhere. I am very interested in both advertising and marketing. I would love to work in an advertising agency and watch the production, creation and planning of advertising campaigns. I hope to work for either a magazine one day putting together advertisments, or working for a worldy advertising campaign. I do not have any experience yet, so I am just trying to enter myself into the business world. If any of you know of any businesses that might be hiring a summer assistant or intern, please let me know. Otherwise, if anyone has any general suggestions I would love to hear those a well. Thank you!

Christmas vs. holiday advertising question?

I am starting a business in the United States and many have told me to use "holiday" in place of "Christmas" when advertising for the Christmas time. I am not originally from the U.S., so I'm not really getting this concept. Why should "holiday" be used? I thought America was Christian country? What should I use for best profits? Thank you

Christmas vs. holiday advertising question?
The US is predominantly Christian, and yes Christmas is celebrated as a religious holiday. However, there's a clusterf'k of religions that have also joined winter festivities by coming up with their own reason to yell and cheer and feel self-important. Kwanzaa worshipers, the Jews, and any other self-respecting religion tries to get on the holiday bandwagon, too. Remember, you can sell stuff to them, too. Saying "holidays" opens up your market to a greater audience. Stick with holidays if you want to sell to everyone. Stick with Christmas if you just want to appease Christians. I, personally, am an atheist.
Reply:I am Jewish, but even I find that term "happy holidays" annoying. I much prefer an honest Merry Christmas, than and business imposed holiday. I expect only friends and family to wish me a happy Hanukkah. Who is Santa Claus? Should he cry out, Happy Holiday to all, and to all a good night. Give it a rest.
Reply:If you only want to sell to Christians then say Christmas. There are all sorts of people here with all religions. I say you should say whatever is appropriate for you and your beliefs. I told one of my Jewish clients, Happy Holidays and he laughed and told me Merry Christmas. The gist of it is that some people prefer to say holidays so that no one is insulted. I think we need to be tolerant of all religions and that if I say Merry Christmas to you and you are not Christian, please take it in the spirit it is intended, not as an insult. And I think most people think as I do. . .but then I'm not selling anything.

Does the Joint Advertising and Marketing Research & Studies Office have the name & personnel info of everyone?

I recently found a form that you could fill out and send to the Joint Advertising %26amp; Marketing Research %26amp; Studies Office (JAMRS) that requests that they remove your name %26amp; personnel info from their military recruitment database and I was wondering if that means that they (JAMRS) have the personnel information of every potential recruit in their database already, or if they pick this info up when you enter college, or if you have to show intrest in joining the military, like fill out forms, and then they log you into the system.

QuarkX and Marketing/Advertising - MKT Major?

I am wondering if QuarkX is an application that I should learn about to help me get a job in advertising/marketing.

QuarkX and Marketing/Advertising - MKT Major?
I prefer InDesign over Quark and our company has made the switch as well. These are programs for graphic designers and if you get a job as a marketing associate for example, they may ask you to do pamphlets and such using these programs. It won't kill you to learn it. It depends on which company you go to work with and what the job description says you would be doing. Its not hard to learn these programs. Since these are very expensive programs, try finding a copy of these softwares from your friend or from online. And get the book on how to use the programs as well.
Reply:It would help you deal with art and creative directors if you could speak their lingo, but you would need more than quark, its a page layout program so you would need to learn a bit of illustrator and photoshop. Indesign is another well used product that is a competitor to quark.

What constitutes good advertising?

to include the parameters by which any good advertising is being judged

What constitutes good advertising?
Everyone should know the answer to this. It is the increase in profit over the cost of the advertising. Startups judge differently. It is the increase in business.

You cannot shut off the ads but you can open the window bigger. Mouse over the edge of the window...when you get an arrow, click and drag it bigger.

Calling all people in Marketing and Advertising!?

Just wanna kno about your career. I plan to major that in college.

btw, do you have to major in advertising to get a career in advertising? I was thinking of majoring in marketing and minoring in anthropology. What do you think?

How's the pay?

And tell me anything else about the job.

Calling all people in Marketing and Advertising!?
You don't need to waste your time in college, studying a bunch of unrelated trash you'll never use once in your life. Get a job, get on the phone, place some ads, that's about it..

Debate question on advertising.?

I got stuck with "Advertisements should be banned from television" Please give ideas on why advertising is obsolete and why it is a waste of money.

Debate question on advertising.?
Unfortunate though it might seem, "obsolete"

is one thing that TV commercials will never be.

They make all TV networks--from ABC to TV

Land--billions a year, 365 days a year... and

366 days per year on leap years.

Besides, you might not like all those glitz and

glamor car commercials, the breakfast cereal

commercials... or the ones for Bush Beans...

which do little else than insult the intelligence.

But, then, there are also plenty of ads by the

(reputable-enough) AD Council which, believe

it or not, pay no less than anyone from David

Oreck. the vacuum cleaner multi-millionaire

con man, to "our friend Bob", the male

enhancement sex maniac.

Live with them.

I am looking for a specialty advertising printer that can apply glue to both sides of a repositionable note.?

I want note pads similar to the 3M Post it Notes with a glue strip along the front side as well as the back side. The front of the notes would also have advertising messages or Customer Logo and Company name. The notes are called "Biz Card Affix-Um" and would be about 3 inches square. The Specialty Advertising Repositionable Note would be used to affix a business card, or other note, to the first page of a letter or piece of correspondence. In other words, the Biz Card Affix-Um is first affixed to the correspondence, and then the Bisiness Card is affixed to the front side of same. It makes for a unique way of presenting your company image. As a matter of note, the Biz Card Affix-Um is patented. Thank you for your help. Bosch Global.

I am looking for a specialty advertising printer that can apply glue to both sides of a repositionable note.?
The glue is generally not applied by the printer, but by the paper manufacturer.

Check your local yellow pages for businesses under the category "Offset Printing"...If they're any good, they'll have a paper supplier who can get this for you.

In the internet advertising which is the most productive pay per click or other sources?
ppc with google is the most effective. You can also use free classifieds. Here is a comprehensive list of free classifieds that can be used in your type of business. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=2...
Reply:I think PPC is better. You can focus your advertising dollars on particular keywords.

Reply:Holy Geeese! That program is cool! I am now getting paid for every visitor to my site! http://www.GetPaidForEveryVisitor.com.
Reply:Hi,

PPC is a great way to advertise but, almost everyone will fail the first few times they try PPC, blow $100's and run away from it for good.

There are many strategies and techniques you need to learn or you will blow your money, I've seen it happen so many times, for example if you don't have any successful campaigns running with PPC then I highly suggest that you don't use BROAD keywords.

If your going to get into PPC, then "The Wealthy Affiliate University" http://TheWiseAffiliate.com/features.php

Is a great place to learn, they have all the tools and resources you need in one place, they even offer one on one support for your PPC campaigns etc.

I've been a members for 10 months now, it's A+ check out the features.

You can also message me if you have any other question.
Reply:Have you guys tried the new audio ads program where you get paid for every visitor that comes to your site? I was thinking that it would be good for pay per click users because you will be able to recoup some of your costs with no user action required. Go to http://www.GetPaidForEveryVisitor.com.

Why does the US Government allow advertising by CITGO to be aired in the USA?

In the past two days CITGO has placed ads on CNN and Fox News. It angers me that any self respecting commercial TV or cable or Satellite company would accept money from CITGO and air their advertising. I would like to know why our government allows it. Did you ever see any advertising for Cuban Cigars?

Why does the US Government allow advertising by CITGO to be aired in the USA?
Let them waste their money on it, I won't buy their gas, so who cares.
Reply:Ok, So CITGO is owned by Venezuela. Our major beef with them is actually only that they kicked US corporations out and said that the oil in THEIR country is owned by THEIR people, not ours. When fuel shortages in the northern states this last winter left poor people freezing Chavez offered fuel at ridiculously low rates. Some states allowed people to buy it and stay warm, where others said no. He offered it at COST. American fuel companies however say that they aren't in the business of helping people, they are in the business of making money. That's why you pay so much money at the pumps now while they make RECORD PROFITS. (You didn't really believe they HAD to raise prices did you?) Check out the "atrocities" that Chavez is accused of. EVERY SINGLE ONE of them is something that our government is ALSO doing. Oh, but it's ok if it's US, right?

Banning advertising for legal products is censorship and the first step towards throwing yet another of our basic rights in the Bush Trash Bin for Civil Rights. Cuban cigars are NOT legal in the US.
Reply:It's all about the greenback. I don't understand why America still buys gas from a dictator that hates the US and pockets the profits. I guess corporate america also includes south america. Also, I guess the news channels didn't do their research on the background. Did people stop shopping at Target when France was showing their a** (Did anyone know Target was a French company?) Who boycotted Starbucks when a few Marines stationed in Iraq wrote a letter asking for some coffee and they were denied because Starbucks didn't support the war, but yet had a Starbucks in Kuwait to rob soldiers fighting a war they didn't believe in? Ignorance is bliss but knowledge is power.
Reply:It's a capitalist society, so naturally everything is about profit. It's not good, it's not bad, it's just the way it is.
Reply:There is no embargo on Venezuela.

And nor will there ever be, regardless of how much we hate Hugo, because we rely way too much on their oil.
Reply:I agree totally with you. I didn't know citgo had placed an ad with Fox....if CNN did it I wouldn't be surprised.

Seeking information on Advertising and Marketing careers?

I am thinking about getting my degree in Advertising or Marketing and would like to here your typical day in this career. Do you have to work long hours? I have children so I would like a 8-5pm job when I can still have a life with my children. Do you enjoy your job? I love being creative and doing office type work. I am a team player and love working with people. Would this be a good career for me?

Seeking information on Advertising and Marketing careers?
The best thing to do is to try marketing before you spend your money on a degree. The traditional advertising market has showed hardly any growth compared to online marketing. It makes sense, because the internet is still new, and it is no where near saturation. So, the good news is, that it is very easy to try this new form of marketing within a busy schedule.

This site has some good information for Search Engine Marketing.

Advertising jobs come in three categories ... sales jobs, administrative jobs, and creative jobs.

Sales jobs pay the best, but have the most headaches and stress.

Creative jobs are wonderful, but harder to get because those are the ones everyone wants. A degree and a great portfolio are the best tickets.

Administrative jobs can pay well (ceo, cfo, etc), but most do not (mail room, production manager).

I have worked in all three, and loved every minute. Started in creative, went into sales, and ended up in administrative (the top level, good stuff).

Pays well. Lots of fun owning your own firm. Plus, you can't outsource what I do to India.
Reply:pls also adjust ure personal life..........as it is must.

Functions of an advertising agency?

what are the primary functions of an advertising agency

Functions of an advertising agency?
Interactive, and branding strategies, copywritting etc.

Building recognition either for their clients or the company it self.

from WIKIPEDIA:

An advertising agency or ad agency is a service business dedicated to creating, planning and handling advertising (and sometimes other forms of promotion) for their clients. An ad agency is independent from the client and provides an outside point of view to the effort of selling the client's products or services. An agency can also handle overall marketing and branding strategies and sales promotions for its clients.

Typical ad agency clients include businesses and corporations, non-profit organizations and government agencies. Agencies may be hired to produce single ads or, more commonly, ongoing series of related ads, called an advertising campaign.

Ad agencies come in all sizes, from small one- or two-person shops to large multi-national, multi-agency conglomerates such as Omnicom Group or WPP Group.

Some agencies specialize in particular types of advertising, such as print ads or television commercials. Other agencies, especially larger ones, produce work for many types of media (creating integrated marketing communications, or through-the-line (TTL) advertising). The "line", in this case, is the traditional marker between media that pay a (traditionally 15%) commission to the agency (mainly broadcast media) and the media that do not.

Lately, Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimization firms have been classified by some as 'agencies' due to the fact that they are creating media and implementing media purchases of text based (or image based in some instances of search marketing) ads. This relatively young industry has been slow to adopt the term 'agency' however with the creation of ads (either text or image) and media purchases they do qualify technically as an 'advertising agency' as well as recent studies suggest that both seo and sem are set to outpace magazine spending in the next 3-5 years.
Reply:Well as far as i know, since my boyfriend works at one, it is to Promote products via television, print or radio media, to develop ads that catch the "viewers" attention, and and also to the liking of the company requesting and paying for such ads! they can develop logos, brochures etc, to help LAUNCH a product into the market! having a campaign and such... but ideally promoting and or launching any giving product. you can also promote not only a specific product, but also do ads for a company that sells many differnt products like for example ads for Adidas of Nike, they promote the company name, and they have not jsut foot wear, but clothes, and sporting items! just for an example. (hope that that was of SOME HELP)...
