I'm writing an essay on advertising and the media so I'd just like you opinion on the following questions:





- In your opinion how does advertising affect our culture?


- Do you think the media judges females too harshly?


- Do you think that sex and violence are the only things that attract teens to the media? Why or why not?

In your opinion how does advertising affect our culture?
Advertising is what created generation Rx. A pill or cream for everything.


Advertising effects our culture to the point that parents no longer look at diet and amount of sleep as it relates to their children. It's easier to just give them a pill.





It affects they way people view themselves. And yes women are protrayed as property more and more. A 15 year old was in line at the store the store clerk who knew him asked if the if Mariah Carry was fat in the before picture of Myriah cary on US magazine. THe kid said yes because there was a indent and he wouldn't go out with her.


Well she looked great in that picture but even the young boys are viewing paris hilton with no shape as healthy because of advertising etc.....





Violence sells. GTA4 is advertised all over the place, parents are buying it not knowing it contains sex scenes with hookers criminal violence, THe parents just see that it's the top rated game coming out and god forbid their 10 year old go without it.





Advertising makes people insecure and plays on that insecurity. Many said advertising is a reflection on society yet over the last twenty years it has become what shapes it, good or bad.
