A BILL BANNING ALCOHOL ADVERTISING ON TELEVISION








Section 1. No alcohol advertisements will be allowed on any commercial or non- commercial





television and radio stations.





Section 2. Advertisements will be defined as the paid sponsorship slots available during all for





profit or non-commercial television and radio-broadcasting time slots.





Section 3. Enforcement will be through the Department of Justice





Section 4. This ban will become effective July 1, 2007.





Section 5. Any and all existing state or federal laws conflicting with this legislation will be null

Should alcohol advertising be banned on television?
Ban away. Only idiots drink anyhow. Nothin funnier than seeing a drunken moron make a total a$$ out of himself.
Reply:I think we should ban all advertising.... possibly TV and radio itself.
Reply:I think it's a great idea because neither myself or anyone I know really buys a certain type of alcoholic bev. based on advertisements. Alcohol kills more people every year than say marijuana. Still one is totally illegal and the other is given million dollar commercials during super bowls and other sporting events. Smokes are gone from most advertisement why not this?

Reply:I'VE DISSECTED A PERSON WHO DIED OF LIVER FAILURE CAUSED FROM OVER-DRINKING AND I'M FOR THIS. PROHIBITING BOOZE WON'T WORK, WE TRIED THIS WITH PROHIBITION, WE REPEALED IT AND KEPT ON DRINKING, BUT TO SEE ALCOHOL ADVERTISED IS REDUNDANT.

Reply:No. If people want to advertise a legal product, the government shouldn't be able to interfere. The government shouldn't be in the business of deciding which advertisements (and by extension, which messages and products) I can handle.
Reply:I think we should ban all alcohol advertising,they motivate kids to drink!!
Reply:No, alcohol should not be banned from television. They should raise awareness about self-control and moderation... maybe they could add commercials involving such into ad-rotation.
